Who it's for · Software, booking and payments

A new practice chooses its software once, before it opens.

Newly registered practices, practices that changed hands, and the ones with no online booking anywhere on their site.

The question you already have

Which practices are choosing a system this quarter: brand new, new owner, or still taking bookings by phone?

What you get today

Four things that are in the product now

  • Newly registered practices as they reach the care register, with the kind of registration (genuinely new, an existing owner expanding, or a new company behind an existing practice) and the registration date; 1,318 on New practices, counted 7 Sep 2026 (the care register, Companies House).

  • Practices that changed hands, as the call list "Changed hands", 326 practices counted 7 Sep 2026, and re-registrations under a new owner, dated by the filing or the register entry (Companies House, the care register).

  • Practices whose website has no online booking, as the call list "No online booking", 6,320 practices counted 7 Sep 2026, and which booking system the others name: online booking found on 1,343 of 14,153 UK practice websites, counted 7 Sep 2026 (their website).

  • Which patient-finance provider a website names and whether it mentions a membership plan: a finance provider on 3,442 websites, a membership plan on 2,784, counted 7 Sep 2026; and how many dentists each practice has on the General Dental Council (GDC) register (their website; the GDC register).

What we don't hold (yet)

Three things we can't tell you

  • Which practice-management or payment system a practice runs. A card machine and a back-office system are not on a website. We hold what the site says: the booking system, the finance provider, a membership plan.

  • That "no online booking" means no bookings online anywhere. It means we read the website on the date shown and found no booking system on it. The practice may take bookings through a listing or an app we didn't read. Check again before you call.

  • Contract end dates, or who they buy from today. No public record holds it.

Questions

How do you know a website has no online booking?
We read the site and looked for a booking system we recognise. "None found" is what the page showed on the date shown, not a fact about the practice. Where we find one, we name it.
Is "newly registered" the same as "just opened"?
No. A register entry means the practice is licensed. We never claim an opening date, and we say which of the four kinds of registration it is: genuinely new, an existing owner expanding, a new company behind an existing practice, or a change of hands.
Can I export a list into our own system?
Yes. Spreadsheet export, up to 5,000 practices at a time, with each fact's source and date in their own columns. There is no programmatic access (an API) yet.
